I believe that music is essential for anyone. Whether it is simply listening to it or being heavily involved performance wise. We can all appreciate music in one form or another and formal training is merely an extension of that fundamental aspect. I believe in approaching teaching music with patience and love, everyone can learn to play music as long as they put some effort into it. Learning to love to play music is more important then learning how to play, for music is art and meant to be enjoyed. But it is also demanding, it requires effort, it requires practice and training, and I believe in teaching this in a fun and engaging manner.
I have a DEC in music from CEGEP Vanier and a Bachelor of fine arts in music and music composition from Concordia University, which included performance classes in saxophone, piano and voice. I started playing and studying the saxophone when I was in grade 9 and was immediately involved with the Quebec Honour Band for 3 years in a row, and with the Quebec Youth Wind Ensemble as well for that same amount of time.
Gold medal at the jazz youth festival when I was in my last year of high school. 3 years in a row in the Quebec Honour Band, 3 years with the Quebec Youth Wind Ensemble with 2 of those years under a scholarship to be part of the band. Music composition scholarship when I attended Vanier.
As soon as I started to learn how to play the saxophone, I wanted to take in and learn as much as I could. I was an elementary music teacher for a private school for hard of hearing children and also a camp coordinator as a music camp counsellor. All these experience has helped build a great background in teaching music to children.

Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.
One-Time Family Registration: $25. This covers your entire family for life - once you're in, everyone can take lessons!
Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
