As a piano teacher, I firmly believe in the profound benefits of music for both physical and emotional health. Music engages the body and mind, promoting coordination, fine motor skills, and cognitive development. The act of playing the piano requires physical precision and control, which can enhance overall dexterity and posture. Emotionally, music serves as a powerful outlet for expression, allowing individuals to process feelings and experiences in a creative way. It fosters resilience, reduces stress, and promotes relaxation, contributing to overall well-being. In my teaching, I aim to create an environment where students can explore these benefits, encouraging them to connect with music not just as a skill, but as a vital component of a healthy and fulfilling life.
I am a Cuban pianist and music educator based in Montreal. I began my musical studies at the age of 7 at the Manuel Saumell Conservatory in Havana, Cuba. There, in 2003, I was a two-time winner of the Amadeo Roldán Competition, receiving a prestigious award for "Best Interpretation of Cuban Music". I graduated from the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory of Music, also in Havana, in 2010. After graduating, I was appointed piano teacher and accompanist for violin, viola and cello students at the Manuel Saumell Music Conservatory, where I supported the musical community for four years. From 2010 to 2014, I was hired as a pianist by the National Lyric Theatre of Cuba, where I worked with and trained singers, choirs and theatre artists. During this time, I was also the piano soloist for the Opera de la Calle. My broad musical training extends beyond classical forms to include chamber music, choral music, opera, musical theatre and ballet. I am known for my unorthodox approach to contemporary genres that blend pop-rock, Cuban and Afro-Cuban music. My talent and contemporary approach to classical music caught the attention of theatre and ballet companies such as Teatro Buen Día, Escuela Nacional de Ballet de La Habana and Cambalache, with whom I performed as pianist from 2010 to 2016. In Montreal, thanks to the mentorship of Maestro Oliver Esmonde White, who has been teaching me the craft since 2022, I became a piano technician and have gained wide recognition as a musician and piano teacher, demonstrating a particular technical mastery of my instrument and incredible patience while working with music students of all levels. I hope that my contagious enthusiasm and passion for music will inspire and motivate you to share your piano journey with me.

Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
