As an educator, I believe it is important to recognize that every student is different. This is especially relevant in music education when it comes to recognizing that different students have different interests and goals. Some may want to learn to play the piano so they can play their favourite popular pieces, while others may want to learn classical music or work towards completing RCM exams. Whatever the student’s goal may be, I believe in catering their lessons towards that so that they get the most enjoyment out of their musical education.
I began learning to play the piano when I was 6 years old through the Music for Young Children program. This program introduced me to music in a group setting where I learned how to read music and play piano, as well as how to play in an ensemble. When I was 9 years old I transitioned into private lessons where I began to focus on the Royal Conservatory. While this education was primarily classical, my teachers always ensured that I had an opportunity to explore popular pieces as well. I think this is essential to a well-rounded musical education. When I was 16 I completed my RCM Advanced Rudiments Piano Theory exam, and at 17 I completed my RCM level 8 piano exam. Following my musical training, I began teaching lessons. I have experience teaching piano lessons both in person and online and have worked with students between the ages of 5 and 12.
Outside of my musical background, I have my bachelor's of education and work as an elementary school teacher. I am passionate about education and helping my students to find success.

Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.

Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
