This policy covers how Beethoven at Home treats personal information that Beethoven at Home collects and receives, including information related to your registration with the Beethoven at Home organization either as a teacher or as a student. Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable and includes, but is not limited to, your name, address, email address, and/or phone number, and that is not otherwise publicly available. This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that Beethoven at Home does not own or control or to people that Beethoven at Home does not employ or manage.
For each visitor to our web site, our web server automatically recognizes only the consumer's IP address, but not the email address (where possible). We collect aggregate information on pages consumers access or visit, information volunteered by the consumer, such as survey information, and/or site registrations. If you are registering as a Beethoven at Home teacher, we collect basic personal information so that we may keep in contact with you, as well as information about lessons you provide on behalf of Beethoven at Home so that we may accurately compensate you. We also use this information to maintain a password-protected user login that associates your information with yourself and not a third party. If you are registering as a Beethoven at Home student, we collect basic personal information so that we may keep in contact with you, as well as financial information and information about lessons you are given by a Beethoven at Home teacher so that we may accurately bill you for services rendered.
Your IP address is recorded by our web server for statistic purposes only. We do not create any cookies on normal users' computers. On registered users' computers, a page may create a cookie to record your login information onto your computer for as long as your logged session lasts. If you supply us with your postal address online you will only receive the information for which you provided us your address. Persons who supply us with their telephone numbers online will only receive telephone contact from us regarding information about services they have requested online. Persons who supply us with their financial information will only be billed for services rendered and/or expecting to be rendered.
We do not share the information we collect from you with any other organization. We do not partner with or have special relationships with any ad server companies or any other third party organization that collects aggregate information.
When we transfer and receive certain types of sensitive information such as financial or health information, we redirect visitors to a secure server and will notify visitors through a pop-up screen on our site. Our secure server is registered with Komodo SSL, therefore any and all information sent through our secure server is sent through SSL encryption. We may share your information with certain Beethoven at Home employees if we feel it is necessary for them to know your information in order to provide better service. Registered users should have a password given to them at the time of registration, and it is recommended that they change their passwords regularly to prevent unauthorized access to their accounts. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.
Beethoven at Home accepts no liability beyond the reasonable measures outlined above. While we take very serious measures to ensure it does not happen there is no way to guarantee that a “hacker” cannot access the information.
